Does the WMI API offer this kind of info?

Subject: [ossrp-control] Access to the BIOS
The discussion of the difficulties of BIOS access had me thinking
(always
dangerous). In the DOS days, we used to have programs out in the
freeware
domain that would permit clever things like saving and loading BIOS
settings. Different BIOS programs being in existence, this meant that a
given program would perhaps work with BIOS chips from a particular
manufacturer or group of manufacturers. It was sort of a pain that
custom
coding was necessary to support a particular BIOS, but the point is that
there were folks who would do that. So, if there are enough people
involved with the Open Source Screen Reader Project, why not at least
consider the possibility that a working group could look at providing
one
or more utilities, some additional crayons in the box if you will, for
letting blind users adjust their BIOS settings? After all, isn't that
the
point of a screen reader--to put control of computers back in the hands
of
those of us who find the "standard" output mechanism of the silly CRT
tube
displaying 10-point text ineffective?
Just a thought,
Jerry
