It's a risk getting into this thread, but I think I'll brave the flames.

1. Mr. Barrett's first name is Kathy.
2. Lots of us had our problems with the AOS of the past. But we want it to 
succeed. Things are changing for the better. As far as responses, I sent a 
letter during the drive to keep the gardens open. It was a comprehensive 
missive, and I got an immediate response. The response went into great 
detail, addressing each point that I made.

Perhaps I received a response because my original letter was firm yet 
respectful. I was not bent on insulting anyone. Rather, I truly wanted 
answers to questions that my local society board had. Honey vs vinegar: 
works almost every time.
