[OGD] Morongo Basin Orchid Festival, Landers, CA

Gubler Orchids of Landers, CA, is a third generation establishment
www.gublers.com/ . On Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7, 2012,
Gubler Orchids will again be the location for the annual Orchid Festival.
This event has become a Hi-Desert tradition which attracts both local and
out-of-state orchid lovers. 

The staff invites you to admire the various, beautiful varieties of blooming
orchids and carnivorous plants, tour the greenhouses, and see the many
orchid-related items available in their Gift Shop. 

Come visit, take a guided tour of the nursery, enjoy the cheese and wine
tasting, or eat food hot off of the mesquite grill. Sip a cool beverage and
listen to a live jazz band. Support the local community! Various charities
benefit from the proceeds from the festival.

You can even take an orchid class to learn how to grow these beautiful
orchid plants. Sign up for classes as soon as possible because each class is
limited in size. There are several options for you to sign up for a class:

Heidi@xxxxxxxxxxx . Orchid Society of Arizona's Volunteer School Program
Team will present all of the classes. This is OSA's FOURTEENTH year of
participating in the Morongo Basin Orchid Festival! "It is a six hour drive
to come to the festival, and it is an honor to have the OSA here again."

this event.

In 1996, the Morongo Basin Orchid Festival first began as a fund raising
event to attract tourism to the Morongo Basin. The event was so successful
that it is now held annually. 

Also on Gubler Orchids'  website, there is a map to the festival location.
(It's relatively close to Palm Springs.) If you plan a vacation to the Palm
Springs area, be sure to include a visit to the festival!
