[OGD] Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia

Readers of orchids Digest are surely aware of and perhaps use on a regular
basis for photos and culture information, the Internet Orchid Species Photo
Encyclopedia maintained by Jay Pfahl. The extensive list covers more than
10,000O species. On the home page http://orchidspecies.com/ there is a link
to the list of subscribers. As of July 11, the list of subscribers includes
individuals, vendors, and orchid societies. Jay updates the site at least
once a week.

If you check the number of orchid societies affiliated with the American
Orchid Society in the US, you will find that there are 305 affiliated
societies. Yet only 8 societies subscribe to the IOSPE. Books cost money,
and in order to keep the information on the IOSPE as current as humanly
possible, Jay needs your help. This is an extremely valuable resource, and
orchid societies might want to consider supporting the IOSPE. The condition
of the US economy is not a valid reason to not become a subscriber because
it only costs $10 per year.
