We had something similar happen in our shop, delays of 3000ms-10000ms were common. It was not intermittent but would slowly get worse. I didn't work the SR but I see the resolution is to wait for patch for bug 9935308 for a GNS spin issue. Our workaround is to restart GNSD every 4 hours for now. Elegant huh? :) You opened an SR with Oracle yet?
