Re: urgent connect '/ as sysdba' insufficient privs

As Bill stated, the password file is not necessary.

Ensure that your ORACLE_HOME, PATH and ORACLE_SID
are all set as you expect them to be, as well as exported.

Make sure that the OS user you are logged in as is
part of the DBA group.
