Not sure what specific problems you are pointing to, but for more than year we
are running stable on 9202 (about 8 production RAC databases) ... however
recently migrated couple of RAC instances to 9204 just for a but related to AQ
(enqueue in once instance is visible in other instances only after 5 minutes
and 10 (or 8) seconds.)
My question to Juan is why utl_file ...

9204 has hoards of bug fixes that are simply a requirement.... 9203 was
fairly stable but 9201 and 9202, if you are on those versions, you pretty
much MUST upgrade ASAP. Fail to do so an you are taking your own databases
life into your own hands.

Why are you concentrating on utl_file ... what is in 9204 that is not in
earlier versions ??
innocent minds want to know.
