  Thanks!
Yes, Oracle has DUL, data unloader, and there are a couple of other companies
also.

Seems like there was some discussion a while back about a tool oracle has
that will do this. I don't recall the name though..

    Subject: undrop??

anyone know how to undrop objects after a bugger'd recovery, system
tablespace is from after datafile. objects are not defined in obj$. all blocks
in needed datafile show up in dba_free_space. The system tablespace is from
after the drop and the datafile in question is from before the drop.
    version is 9.2.0.6
after my herculean effort yesterday to hack datafiles and get this database
open, I'd sure like to be able to get data out of it...
followup related question, When oracle drops a table, the entry is removed
from obj$ and all the proper changes are made to UET$ and FET$. The question
is, for security purposes are the blocks zeroed or scrambled or just marked as
dropped? This is version 9.2.0.6.
