        Why specifically?

Until very recently, Debian asked you to decide everything --
inform the hardware components, partitions etc. Now it's been a few
months since it has gained an automated, if not yet graphical, installer.

Yes, the community decided to have something sound instead of
flashy, and is slowly adding flash. The Debian installer is the only one
to work in a wide range of situations: a dozen platforms, three different
operating systems, serial lines, low memory situations etc.

But then we're offtopic. Oracle does not support Debian. I do
not recommended non-supported situations, I was just making a point about
your needing to specify why you think RH support the best.
