Thanks Alan.
You catalog the locations of the files in the controlfile after the
controlfile is restored, In my case I am not able to restore my controlfile
at all.
I even created a directory
/psoft/u02/oracle10g/cds/f9upgrd/f9dmo/backup/dec02_2009
and copied the backup files there with same results.
