We have a scheduled (by cron) shutdown/coldbackup/startup daily @ 3:00
PM when no DB backups are running....and the backup is system copied to
tape daily ....

With that and archive logs, we feel comfortably sure we could restore it
and our production databases with it.

I (personally) take exports of my recovery catalog database after all =
=3D
backups are complete and include them in my Unix File System Backups. I
=3D
also compress the export dumps and copy them to servers across town for
=3D
DR purposes.

Which is a better method to backup the recovery catalog?=3D20

By logical or physical backup?

Horror stories? Good ones?

rcat db 10.2.0.3
os Linux SUSE 8

target dbs 9.2.0.4 and 8.1.7.4
os: SunOS 2.8
