Lex,

Bugs are one thing. But releasing stuff that is completely broken is
something else.

My recent experience is just this. The Spring 2005 Security patch broke
OPatch - it required us to perform a hand-patch to fix it. And the same
patch on a Sun platform created another bug. And Oracle said to fix it, we
had to upgrade to 9.2.0.6 (from .4).

This is not patching stuff for Utopia's sake. This is just plain horrible
patch maintenance released by a company who last year said they were
"UnBreakable".

They are losing focus and need to shake things up a bit.

Just my little opinion.

Tom

you don't have the faintest idea about the size and complexity of Oracle's
regression tests,
and the frequency they run with ... bug-free software is an utopia.

kind regards,

Lex.

Wait a minute. You say that they *do* regression testing? Are you sure?
Have you seen the list of bugs?

Maybe they only do *gression* testing - you know - a half-assed job.
