    You wrote "Operating without a license is criminal, and very very
expensive if you get caught.".  Which is very true, it is criminal not
to pay for what one uses, but at least Oracle  takes a "lets negotiate
this" approach first,  Then given an intransigent client they then call
in the legal beagles.   Conversely others just call in the legal folks
right off the bat.  BTST, not funny.
