Nope, never set it up. Always used Oracle. Been doing it that way
since 1990 haven't heard a good reason to change. Of course, my DB
servers don't have user accounts on them, all developer, user
connections are over the network.

group from the oracle owner. Many people can startup/shutdown database as
long as they are in the dba group, but only oracle:oinstall can go in and
