Ok ok,
You actually done need a second location
Just use ln -s to create a symbolic link from where the file is to where
oracle expects it.
And although you can only run one instance of recover tablespace <TBS #>
you can run multiple instances of recover datafile <file #>
So this is how you improve on recovery time.

Say the default location as per the init file and a second location
