Thanks, John,  I checked out our log and email back the date the flashback log 
had been stopped. It was  exactly the case that our flashback area was 100% 
full. Until now, I don't know it automatically disable the flashback. Learned 
the new thing today. Thanks again.

Hi Listers,

I had set flashback on to  both our primary and standby databases since it was 
setup. I just noticed that it was disabled a year ago. I couldn't recall that I 
had issued any alter database command in the database. Is there any possible 
causes could turn the flashback_on =off?
