greetings,
has anyone ever conducted any formal testing on filesystem i/o for performance?
was there a methodology that was followed and what tools did you use to
measure the performance?
i'd like to do some research to better understand all the different types of
filesystems and i/o and how they affect a database's performance. i know of
some tools out there, such as iozone, but i'd like to understand the approach
and methodology of formally conducing the test. any help our guidance would be
greatly apprectiaed.
thanks in advance,
haroon
