RE: Will 10g install on any Linux???

Well, the "hack files" part is already taken care of. Just install on
Gentoo Linux -- no icky gcc/glibc hacking necessary! It's a dream! I've
installed 9.2.0.4 (via 9.2.0.1 and .4 mini-pack) at home and here at work
*without so much as a hiccup*. Flawless.

As far as the users and kernel parms, I wouldn't trust any automated script
to do that for me anyway. :)

Hi

Check out Howard Rogers $5000 prize for anyone who will write a new
installer for Oracle on linux that installs just like windows on all
versions of Linux without needing to create users, set parameters, hack
files etc, etc. Its over on com.databases.oracle.server, he is calling
it the denis prize and he is serious.

cheers

Pete
