Standby Database

Hi
   
  I have created a 10g database on Solaris and it is non-RAC but I am using ASM 
for storage. Now I had to create Physical Standby Database. Now can somebody 
point any steps that need to be done expecially for ASM setup as I want to 
understand that how I can do it. 
   
  I know that I can take rman backup for Database but do I have to create new 
ASM instance on other server manually and any other consideration.
