How much do you think they were actually paying the developer? They did not ask him if he would take a pay cut. So the contract company was making most of the rate.
People must be _very_ hard to recruit where you are. Over in S.E.
Michigan, the body shop _would_ have cut the developer's pay 50%. No
consultation needed.
