What does V$SESSION_WAIT tell you about the session executing the export? -- Mark J. Bobak Senior Oracle Architect ProQuest Information & Learning "There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't." ________________________________ From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Smith, Ron Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 3:02 PM To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx; oracle-db-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; oracle-rdbms@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Slow Export We are having trouble with slow exports on Oracle 8.1.7 running on a Sun server. Exports that used to take 30 minutes are now running 9 hours. If I do a file system copy, it runs very fast. So I don't think it is the file system. Even an export direct=y to a /dev/null file runs forever. We have looked at everything. Any ideas? Thanks! Ron Important Notice!
