If you can do parallel direct loads it would be tough to beat SQL Loader. Clear back in '98 using Oracle 7.3.4 I was getting 15000 rows per second. I'm sure with the hardware and SAN systems available today you could beat that by a large margin. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone who has more current benchmarks than mine. -Randy _____ From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ram Srinivasan Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2007 4:55 PM To: Oracle-L Subject: RE: SQLLDR or UTL_FILE package? Which is faster? All: Is SQLLDR faster or UTL_FILE utility faster? For loads of 130 million rows with about 200 columns, which tool is better? We are on 8.1.7 on Sun server.
