RE: SQL Loader, field varchar2

The log put: "wrong on Table X, Field Y. A field of the data file is =
longer that max long." But Field Y is VARCHAR(4000). The field is =
established as fixed in the SQL*Loader control file.

   Just guessing since I haven't needed to load a record this long.
   Does the log file list a reason for the rejection? Is the database =
field
defined to a sufficient width? Are you loading this as a fixed or =
variable
width field in the SQL*Loader control file?

Subject: SQL Loader, field varchar2

Hi: =3D20

I have a problem for importing with SQL Loader from Text to Oracle 9i.
When I import a text field of size >100 to a varchar2 field, it is
rejected. =3D20

Thank you! =3D20
