sql developer is it's own product.
it's a simple download, free, and requires no installation. it
doesn't take much effort at all to get it up and going.
i personally prefer toad and pl/sql developer but that might be
because i'm used to them. when plug-ins for sql developer start
coming out, i'll definitely be paying attention.
