Running One ASM install for Multiple Oracle Instances on Different Nodes (not RAC)

Hi,
Is it possible to have one common ASM instance on a server to manage storage
of multiple Oracle Instances on different servers which are NOT RAC
configurations?
If it is, how to configure that? Please point to some papers/documented
procedures if possible.
