RMAN restore/recover problem

Hello all,
 

I'm trying to do a PITR of an 11.1.0.7 database.

Backupsets were restored from tape and I registered them in our RMAN
catalog.

 

The restore works fine, but the recover fails with :

 

unable to find archived log

archived log thread=1 sequence=1

Oracle Error:

ORA-01547: warning: RECOVER succeeded but OPEN RESETLOGS would get error
below

ORA-01190: control file or data file 1 is from before the last RESETLOGS

ORA-01110: data file 1: '/u31/oradata/DWHPRD/system01.dbf'

RMAN-06054: media recovery requesting unknown archived log for thread 1
with sequence 1 and starting SCN of 2635

 

Sequence 1 ??? Why is it asking for archive log sequence 1 ?

The archive logs I would expect to be used have sequence numbers upwards
of 60000 or so and are in the catalog.

 

Any pointers very greatly appreciated.
