Ok, I just tried using the backup controlfile option with a set command = to change the name, but it is looking for an old archive that doesn't = exist anymore, so I tried to alter the sequence using a higher one but = it detects that belongs to other db.. ? I gonna start over with another idea..=20 -----Original Message----- From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Stephen.Lee@xxxxxxxx Sent: Viernes, 16 de Julio de 2004 02:08 p.m. To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: RMAN duplicate hangs > -----Original Message----- > Something else, I don't use a catalog for the backups. That's OK. You don't need to. I still think it's hanging up creating the new control file. If you run = out of ideas and are willing to experiment: Go to the original database; = alter database backup controlfile to trace; copy the file to the duplicate database; edit the file as needed (perhaps change the database name?); create the new controlfile; recover the database using backup = controlfile; open database resetlogs. If it doesn't work. Well ... then I guess you get to start over. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html -----------------------------------------------------------------
