RE: RMAN Job Failure

But "connect / as sysdba" does not use the password file while a remote
login as sysdba would have to do.  I think checking on the status
(presence, permissions, etc...) is a worthwhile task as is checking the
status of the spfile parameter: remote_login_passwordfile.

        from the system console when logged in as the oracle owner

        I was checking backups from last night with the following
oddity.  The job failed with "User Authentication Failed."
