We are using several p7 frames and VIO. We are consolidating all of our databases on six p7 frames to take advantage of CPU licensing and get rid of a pile of individual servers. So far no issues. With the decrease in CPU allocated to the primary DB server, concurrent activity slows down a bit during our weekly full backups, but other than that everything runs as fast or faster than on the old server. If you’re experiencing problems you might want to look into the TurboCore mode, or using Intelligent Threads technology to set it to just a single thread per core. We didn’t use either of those here – our performance was fine with the default multi-threading.
