Oracle had this stated direction way back in '96 (anybody remember Internet File System). It was supposed to eliminate the need for a OS, Oracle would just "auto-magically" handle everything. I thought some people stated that with the direction oracle is going that they are trying to turn the Oracle database into an OS all by itself?
