Tod,
Maybe you should check support.microsoft.com there's a KB article 280297 that
deals with just that (MS cluster server/volume mount points). There are loads
of other mount point related articles..also check out 300415, dealing with
'diskpart', a scriptable command line utility which you can use instead of the
diskmanagment gui..
I haven't worked with MSCS and mount points the last years, but I think you
should avoid 'dynamic' disks, only use 'basic' disks. Both RAC and ASM only
support 'basic', so I wouldn't be surprised if failsafe has the same
limitations..
regards,
Mario

Subject: Oracle on Windows Volume Mount Points
I currently have Oracle 9i running on Windows clusters using Fail Safe. We are
building new 10g clusters still using Fail Safe on Windows 2003 (I fought the
Linux battle and lost, letʼs just leave it at that). The system administrators
now would like to use Windows volume mount points instead of drive letters for
the new clusters. I have been unable to find any documentation or even forum
threads that talk about the support of mount points on Windows. Does anyone
know of documentation re: Oracleʼs support of this? Is anyone else using this
already that can share any experiences?
Thanks!
