My site has been using iFS since early 2002 [1.1.9 and upgraded to
9.0.1.0.0]
The inability to restore single files is the biggest issue we have.
Performance certainly doesn't match a pure Windows or Novell File Server.
We have to, occasionally, restart iFS as it stops accepting logins --
sometimes
after 2 weeks, sometimes after 2 months.
We'd never developed any of our own Java Classes against iFS and use vanilla
SMB and HTTP.

I believe iFS 9.0.2 and upwards [renamed to and as part of the Oracle
Collaboration Suite]
have had significant improvements {including the all important concepts
of a "TrashCan" and the ability to restore single files}.
However, we are planning to migrate __out__ of iFS. Users have lost
confidence in it.

With computerisation, too many times, "GIGO" becomes "Garbage= In, Gospel
Out".
{paraphrasing Steven Feuerstein}.
