My reason for doing an upgrade instead of a clean install is basically the
fact that I don't have a machine in which to install a new OMS/DB. And I'm
not sure running two OMS in the same box is a good idea or even possible.
I do, however, have a cluster for OMS, so perhaps I could remove the OMS and
do a clean install on one of the nodes and then uninstall in the other node
and add it to the 12c cluster. I am still downloading the media pack though
(very limited connection at the office) so I have some time to make the
final decission :-P

the reason I'm going with 1-system upgrade is pretty much the same. I won't
get new machines for the new OMS, not even VMs, and most of the other OMS
are not clustered, so I pretty much have no option. Downtime is not as
important as this is development. When we get to production, however, we may
go with the two system approach, if at all (prod OMSs are still 10g)

In any case I like the idea of a clean slate, this OMS has never worked
quiet right.

cheers
Alan.-
