Oracle  DBA  Needed--Manager /Team Leader (mentoring and coaching experience)

Location:  Marlboro MA
Description: As a key member of the Data Technologies organization, the Lead DBA is responsible for a small team of multi-disciplined Database Administrators and global consultant resources. This responsibility includes strong leadership mentoring, managing staff locally and off-shore, assisting/directing staff in resolving production issues, being an escalation point for production issues, allocating staff appropriate to immediate and longer term priorities and making sure database resources are appropriately allocated based on business needs.
Additionally the position will be accountable for establishing strong positive productive relationships with internal clients and the delivery of development DBA services to multiple development teams simultaneously. This person must be excellent establishing trust through leadership, communicating with highly technical staff, technical development organizations and technical server/storage administration staff. The individual must be able to deal with day to day challenges as well as planning and executing on longer term projects to ensure appropriate availability of database resources and services in the future.
The successful candidate has experience leading a DBA team and multiple challenges simultaneously. He/she will have a firm understanding of the financial industry as well as a firm grasp of information systems technology and architectures. 

KEYS TO THIS POSITION:
1. Management skills: We are looking for a Lead DBA that has strong management skills (mentoring and coaching DBA's). 2. 10 plus years experience as an Oracle DBA. The technology environment includes Oracle 10g, Unix, AIX. 10g is key, however we will look at resumes that do not have 10g if they match up well to our other requirements. 
3. The candidate needs to have:
- performed upgrades to 10g from 9i
- been involved with installations of 10g
- experience with the advanced properties of 10g, including RAC, ASM and Data Guard 
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), including grid control and monitoring
- migrated Oracle from Solaris to AIX would be a big plus.
4. Strong communication skills required.
5. Financial Services is a plus, but not a requirement.
