Hi John
We had a bit of a memory leak with ML3 - we are using 400 slave
processes per drive and virtual memory usage was constantly growing,
until we bounced the database. We though it was caused by Oracle, but
svmon did not show any memory leaks on any of the background processes.
Since we upgraded to ML4 issue has disappeared and usage of the paging
file is stable and goes up and down, as you would expect.
It could have been caused by concurrent io and oracle's server processes
(client connections), but as we are not AIX administrators and we do not
have one on site, I can't really tell you what caused it. It certainly
got fixed with ML4.
Kind regards
