Method "C" ensures much more fun. It's like making rain or praying to the sun:
it brings people together in funny rituals and works approximately 20% of the 
time. Managers usually love it as there is a Number with the capital "N" that
is responsible for their performance. Now, all we need to do is to appease the 
Number and raise BCHR high enough. Once upon a time, there was a guy named 
Dostoevsky who wrote the classic story about the Great Inquisitor in his book 
"The Brothers Karamazov". 
You probably know the story: Jesus came back and the inquisition immediately 
locked him up. In the ensuing conversation between the great inquisitor and 
Jesus, 
the inquisitor explains how people don't want the freedom and responsibility, 
they 
want silly rituals and somebody else to do their thinking. Eventually, the 
story goes, 
Jesus learned the error of his ways and returned back to where he came from. 
Exactly the same thing can be observed with BCHR: people do want a single 
number which
will tell them that they're right. It's a religious experience, so much better 
then
thinking. Therefore, method "C" has never died.
