Hi Onkar,
Have you tries running <opatch lsinventory>? I have not run opatch on a portal
installation but have done so many times on Oracle Apps. I run the lsinventory
command to verify opatch is working correctly. The few problems I have run
into deal with wrong binaries in path i.e. wrong "AR" binary on an HPUX system.
I have also run into un-updated entries in various inventory XML files after
clones. Is this a windows install? If so, have you checked your MKS install?

We are trying to install OPatch on Oracle Portal DB for the sake of exp-imp.
As oracle says that this patch is required to install bug which is there for
