G'day!

I beg to differ. The relevant bit is the first line, the filesystem /u100/app is full. Arvind informs us that the dump directories bdump, cdump and udump reside in that filesystem. If the ksupc2() function needs to write to this filesystem when spawning a new user process, e.g. to a trace file in /u100/app/.../udump, then it will fail and it may well log an error. One would have hoped it would be more useful than the ORA-600 that is being discussed though.

Perhaps this is related, but only one of several issues that conspire to raise ORA-600 rather than a "file does not exist" or similar message.. Does the ORACLE_HOME happen to reside in the same filesystem? In that case it could be memory related as Oracle writes to several files in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs, amongst others.

Cheers,
Tony

vnetd, bpcd are netbackup daemons, EV being symantec vault; ora01 seems to be the hostname. There is nothing relevant in your /var/adm/messages.

I found the following in /var/adm/messages. /u100/app is the
