Hi List,

We have a VB .NET application which is using Oracle ODP.NET 9.2 version for
the connectivity to the database. If the application is placed under the any
folder name ends with ')', it crashes.

Here is the Test sample code and the error message. Why does the oracle
client depend on the folder name where the application resides?
VB Code:
Module Module1

Sub Main()

Console.WriteLine("Starting...")

Dim cnn As New
Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection("Password=funkadel1c;Pooling=false
; User ID=sis; Data Source=gabpro")

Try

cnn.Open()

Console.WriteLine("Open")

cnn.Close()

Console.WriteLine("Close")

Catch ex As Exception

Console.WriteLine("Error")

End Try

Console.ReadLine()

End Sub

End Module

Error:

 Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve
