I would opt to just take a filesystem backup of the nodes local drives. When performing cluster maintenance such as upgrades or drop / add nodes I take a manual backup of the ocr. The master node (ares) has the OCR backup file locally while the second node (enyo) dosen't have any OCR backup files. As we can see here from the second node, all backup files are on the first node. [drobilla@enyo] ~ {1009}$ sudo ocrconfig -showbackup ares 2010/07/15 07:04:47 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/backup00.ocr ares 2010/07/15 03:04:46 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/backup01.ocr ares 2010/07/14 23:04:45 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/backup02.ocr ares 2010/07/14 03:04:43 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/day.ocr ares 2010/07/12 23:04:40 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/week.ocr ares 2010/07/14 14:17:45 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/backup_20100714_141745.ocr ares 2010/07/14 14:17:17 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/cdata/orage/backup_20100714_141717.ocr Which makes me think we should change the default OCR backup location to a shared file system like NFS or ACFS. Any thoughts on that? Anyone using ACFS for that? David -- http://www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
