1) take separate deltas for all those different figures

2) yes you need to gather this data in db server

3) identify the network interface cards through which your test traffic goes
and use netstat on those only (netstat -i should allow you to specify network
interfaces to measure)

Qs => Does Delta need to be taken of "netstat -i" outputs taken at periodic
intervals?
Qs => How are the Pkts to be converted into Bytes/Bits?
Am assuming that Sum (i.e. Ipkts + Opkts) needs to be done nevertheless.

Sample Output of netstat -i:-
Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkts Oerrs Coll
lan2 1500 192.168.16.0 192.168.16.2 22462215 0 17477027 0 0
lan1* 1500 none none 0 0 0 0 0
lan0 1500 172.21.197.128 SPEHPPA1 73224092 0 55948646 0 0
lo0 4136 loopback localhost 2037063 0 2037070 0 0
