My very first post to oracle-l: our company had support through our software vendor; we could not call Oracle directly. This was waaaay before documentation could be found on-line. I had not one single manual, and was tossed into a dba position overnight. I asked the list what dual was. (I was a VMS'er. I thought it was dua1, like the disk drive.) Bambi answered my question thoroughly, and without humiliating me. Bambi was always fun, but she never used her humor to humiliate folks. We have some very talented people on this list, and they will frequently tackle tough questions. I try to take the easy ones when I can, and I'm proud to do it. I'll be so disappointed if this list opts for not helping newbies. I thought we were all bigger than that.
