Come on Greg- Why do it right when you can do it twice...or three times...four? :) Kellyn Pedersen Sr. Database Administrator I-Behavior Inc. http://www.linkedin.com/in/kellynpedersen www.dbakevlar.blogspot.com "Go away before I replace you with a very small and efficient shell script..." --- On Tue, 7/6/10, Greg Rahn <greg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Greg Rahn <greg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Merge To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tuesday, July 6, 2010, 1:36 PM Apologies in advance for the slight diversion from the OP, but I can't help but read this thread (and others of similar context) and think to myself: "IT is so broken in so many companies". Management really needs to make "duhvelopers" fix their broken code. Period. It's no wonder that DBAs feel over burdened and don't have time to investigate new technologies/features/etc. -- their time is consumed with stop gap fixes day after day. Fixing things at the top of the stack is so much easier and so much more cost effective. Time to get with the program. -- Regards, Greg Rahn http://structureddata.org -- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
