Network problems are, generally speaking, very difficult to figure out. Recommended procedure is to blame everything on the network administrator and let him prove his innocence. If he can't - it's a network problem. Network administrators are presumed guilty until proven innocent. Tracing listener is easy: $ lsnrctl trace admin LSNRCTL for Linux: Version 10.2.0.2.0 - Production on 27-NOV-2006 10:54:37 Copyright (c) 1991, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved. Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=10G))) Opened trace file: /oracle/product/10g/network/trace/listener.trc The command completed successfully $ Be careful, those trace files can grow very quickly and storage space, except on /dev/null, is not infinite. -- Mladen Gogala http://www.mladen-gogala.com --------------------------------- Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo!
