Re: Limit on number of columns in an index

According to 10.2 Concepts-manual:

"No more than 32 columns can form a regular composite index. For a bitmap index, the maximum number columns is 30. A key value cannot exceed roughly half (minus some overhead) the available data space in a data block."

Listers,

Is there any limit on the number of columns a BTree index can have, before it is considered a bad design. I see a need to build an index with almost 30
columns.

Thanks
