Anil,

What version of OID are you using, AD integration is a new feature in OID 10g
(9.0.4) Chapter 43 of the 10g Oracle Internet Directory Administrator's Guide
deals with integrating OID and AD.

Cheers,
Neil.

Carel-Jan,

I've been looking into this (superficially) as well lately (and for the
same reasons).
Metalink doc 135696.1 has this to say :

5. Which LDAP directories does Oracle certify for Net8 directory naming
?
Answer
------
Until 8.1.7.0.0 :
-> Oracle Internet Directory
-> Active Directory
-> Netware Directory Services

Until further notice 9i only supports :
-> Oracle Internet Directory
-> Active Directory

Since we're already using MSAD we may have less work to do than you.

mvg/regards

Jo

        Subject: LDAP - SunONE vs. OID

The site I'm working currently uses SunONE (previously called iPlanet)
for
their LDAP services. Oracle Net name resolution is currently configured
through tnsnames. This is getting more and more unmanageable, given the
fact that 170 instances on appr. 60 servers are in use right now, not
counting the numerous amount of clients. Of course, Java-apps are using
the thin client, to make things even more unmanageable.

I'm new to LDAP. Does anyone have experience in using SunONE for Oracle
Net configuration? From the doc's I understand one should use OID, and
replicate to/with SunONE. Is it possible to skip OID, and configure the
OID-stuff directly in a SunONE LDAP tree?

TIA, Carel-Jan
