I guess you are right. We hadn't a storage specialist watching our tests, so
I don't know the cache size.
Anyway, I wasn't the only user of the disk array.

Perhaps the EMC I/O cache was involved in these odd results?! Were you
the only user of the disk-array? Do you remember its cache size?
