My recommendation would be: get ceasar's palace. I was at Blackhat USA last
year, which was held in caesars' -sadly my travel agent booked the
excalibur for me - which is a pure family-style hotel. If you've got kids
wiht you - it's a perfect pick. But if you're looking for some fun (read:
topless girls at the pool or in the spa to chill with, stylish clubs - be
sure to check out PURE club (ask the local cabbies for door passes), real
nice bars and so on) - ceasar would be my hotel of choice :-)

Not to be too off-topic, but the mandalay bay itself is a fantastic hotel
and casino, one of the newer and nicer ones. If that's not acceptable
because of price or availability, its attached to the Luxor, which is fine,
a little bit older and more run-down, but clean and professional. The
biggest problem is that the two complexes are enormous. I spoke at Interop
a year ago, and from my room at the Luxor to the mandalay bay convention
center was probably a good twenty-thirty minute walk. When i mentioned this
to the convention staff they told me from the front door of the luxor to the
mandalay bay convention center, its 1.5 miles. And from the front door of
the mandalay bay to the convention center its almost a mile. Kind of gives
you a sense of the place.

There's also a monorail that loops between mandalay bay, luxor, and
excalibur, and while I know it doesn't make sense to use it for
luxor-mandalay bay, excalibur-mandalay bay could be an option (I've never
been to excalibur).

Thanks,
Matt

During UKOUG in Birmingham, majority of people gathered at Jury's Inn.
What's gonna be the most popular hotel in Las Vegas then?
