Andrew,

Actually, I have done this in vmware workstation, not server.
Below you find an extract of my vmx file. It could be vmware complained about
something during startup (can't remember what exactly), but I was able to
configure rac on it without any problem.

disk.locking = "FALSE"
diskLib.dataCacheMaxSize = "0"
diskLib.dataCacheMaxReadAheadSize = "0"
diskLib.dataCacheMinReadAheadSize = "0"
diskLib.dataCachePageSize = "4096"
diskLib.maxUnsyncedWrites = "0"

scsi0.present = "TRUE"
scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic"
scsi0.sharedBus = "VIRTUAL"

scsi0:1.present = "TRUE"
scsi0:1.fileName = "E:\vmware\cursus_agfa\San\asmspfile.vmdk"
scsi0:1.mode = "independent-persistent"
scsi0:1.redo = ""

scsi0:2.present = "TRUE"
scsi0:2.fileName = "E:\vmware\cursus_agfa\San\data1.vmdk"
scsi0:2.mode = "independent-persistent"
scsi0:2.redo = ""
...

Yes, I tried it once in VMware workstation, and it kept on telling me
clustering was not supported. Which meant it would not let you share one drive
between two workstations.

You can do it in vmware workstation if you set up a 3rd workstation as the NAS
server. Like I said, I set it up in vmware workstation using 2 OEL
workstations, and 1 openfiler workstation. Its not too hard, and gives you a
much better feel for what a production RAC installtion is like.

Sorry didn't notice that.. Pretty sure workstation doesn't support
shared disks.. at least the version I used at the time I tested RAC
didn't.
