How could you tell if an applicaiton will run in Standard Edition

Has anyone come up with a set of queries that will determine if an application
will run in standard edition.
One query may be to determine if there really ARE any partitions or something
like that.
I've got a client with some rather "plain" small database, and may well work in
Standard Edition, but how can I be sure?
Thanks.
